The largest and busiest airport in New Zealand, Auckland Airport is the country’s primary gateway. In 2000, it handled 71% of arrivals and departures for New Zealand’s international air passengers. Auckland Airport is one of only two commercial airports in New Zealand that can handle Boeing 747 and Airbus A380 aircraft.
As part of a 30-year expansion plan announced in 2014, Auckland International Airport Limited needed a concept design that would enable a transition from separate domestic and international terminals to a single integrated terminal building.
